Personal coaching at a tournament where I observe and record the student's competitive matches, accompanied by tactical guidance and post-match debriefing.
This is helpful for several reasons:
The coach can observe the students understanding of tempo, distance and tactics in an actual match. This allows the coach to give specific examples of when the student does well and also not well with their choice of actions and their choice of when to do those actions.
The coach can see how well you applying the technical skills learned in the lessons. This helps the coach make adjustments in the types of exercises for future lessons
Lastly, there is an occasional opportunity to make a correction within the match that will increase the chance of victory.
I charge for each match that is observed and recorded:
Pool Matches - $6
Direct Elimination Matches - $20
All matches will be video recorded and saved to a shared Google Photo album. Video recordings will include coaches commentary made while the student is fencing. For direct elimination matches, the conversation with the fencer during the 1-minute break will also be recorded.
Since I may have other students at the same tournament, any strip coaching is on a best-efforts basis, depending on availability.

A 15 to 20-minute session focusing on the mechanics of fencing footwork. Many fencers are held back by fundamental errors in their footwork technique. The Footwork Lesson is for students who have already been introduced to fencing but may not have learned the correct technique for the advance, retreat, lunge, advance-lunge, and the fleche. The coach will put a student's existing technique under a microscope and provide instruction on how to make their footwork more precise, effective, and dangerous
To their opponents, that is ;)

A 1-hour session to analyze one or more of the student's recorded fencing matches. Analysis will focus on what's happening in the match, what the opponent is doing, and what the student can do to counter. The session's objective will be to give the student a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses and what they should work on to improve their results. Also will focus on building dynamic tactical awareness.
